star wars trailer
show user profile  Mr_Stabby
So, in case you've been stuck under a rock lately

When I first saw it, I had this little grin on my face, slowly extending towards my ears up until the point where the 2 side things poked out of the light saber and then I was like "Dang. They don fook it up agaen." Whai!?? Its so gimmicky omg, lets hope it doesn't make it to the final cut and we can pretend it never happened.

Starwars died for me when they made the fourth one (actual fourth, not the bullshit numbering system they came up with).

Actually, it died for me when Jim Henson's Ewoks appeared in the third (actual third, not the bullshit numbering system they came up with) episode.

The actors hated the later movies. Acting in a green room, talking to green blocks, imagining other actors and whatnot.

Lucas killed something that was perfect with his green-screen bullshit (and jar -jar binks with his wazaap crap). I'm scared to look at this trailer, because I know it will make me angry.

This seems to be heading in very much the right direction.

I`ve never been a huge starwars fan ( strange as i have always enjoyed scifi ) but i can understand why people get annoyed.. In saying that, i think the shots in that trailer look really good. Except the millennium falcon doing a loop which is just fucking ridiculous..

oh man, I friggin hate the ewoks, they EAT people(or at least want to). Natural selection is all fine but eating another sentient being is just fucked up. I wouldn't be surprised if they were the main antagonist faction in the new movies.

This trailer was designed to be a Stormtrooper in a teacup. Bobo Fett (however you spell his name) was cloned to make all the stormtroopers... and yet in the opening opening shot we have a multiculturally diverse casting choice donning the fabled black and whites. Hell, I'm sure even Michael Jackson wouldn't be singing that it doesn't matter.

Hollywood pisses me off with their multicultural and sexually undiscriminating casting choices. They're not doing it to be "progressive," it's all about the money. Put a black, white, yellow, pink, gay, straight, person in every lead role and you'll draw in a larger audience.

Anyway... yeah, the trailer looks good. Check out the fan made Lens Flare version, it's pretty cool.

Soneone, on some forum, actually explained that after the Clonewars, the empire started enlisting recruites, since they were getting kind of low on clones.. Which would explain why the black stormtrooper looks very little like Jango Fett. Also he could just be a guy disguised as a stormtrooper.

Also this:

Terribly boring signature.

It's fine, some people just hate the change. The light "saber" at 0,54 is more like a light "bastard sword". Why not? How can they make a new Star Wars movie without adding some new stuff to it? With the fans being so touchy about everything they can't be very creative with this film.
The only thing that look's a bit weird is the Millennium Falcon part. Perhaps because it's design looks old now and it's being shot with all kinds of modern technologies. Why not make it look more... aerodynamic or something? Coz the fans would be so damn pissed.

My point wasn't whether change is good or not. Or whether he's really a stormtrooper, or just in disguise. Or whether I even agree with casting a black guy as one of the leads.

My point was that this is THE RETURN OF THE JEDI, so to speak, starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamil, Carey Fisher, probably Yoda and Chewbacca as well... and the first face that pops up is a black guy in a stormtrooper outfit. This reeks of trolling by the studios. And it worked, IMDB blew up with angry fans left, right and center.

Just watched it.

I am outraged.

Not because of the black guy, but because of that stupid effing ball robot. WTF was that supposed to be!?

What's the problem with the ball robot? How is it any different in its stupidity to this little bit of sillyness:

Personally I'm looking forward to seeing whether JJ does something good with the franchise (because seriously, that's all starwars is these days, just another franchise.

There will always be a special place in my heart for the first three movies (actual first three, not the bullshit numbering system they came up with), but I don't hold Starwars as sacred in the slightest anymore.

I wasn't a fan of that light saber at first, until a friend of mine (who is a HUGE star wars fan) told me that in the lore, there was only 1 jedi in history to wield it

mega nerd chills
