SSS Fast Skin Shader with ambiant occlution?
show user profile  ravihara
IS there any way that i can get ambient occlusion with mr sss fast skin? can i apply a custom ambient occlusion map generated with a software like crazy bump to it? note that my models are detailed using normals maps. the problem is when i light my models with mrSun, the normals details gets washed off, giving a 'flat' kind of look. that is why i thought of ambient occlusion. any solution for this guys?

i seem to remember if you rtt the model with bump/ nm on you can get an ok ao map (with mr of course) takes a while
could be wrong though
i'll experiment and get back to you in a bit

[edit] ok, doesn't do too brilliant of a job- too many details missed, even with a copy of the original object to go off, apologies- either that or i'm doing it badly which is an option :)
wonder what i was thinking of then...
sure this can be done in zb or mb

thanks a lot for the trouble bro. i'm bumping my head on this issue. my model is not that extremely detailed so there are not much details to miss. think we have a ambient occlusion map some how. so how we gna 'plug/connect' that in to the mr sssfast skin shader?

either combine it with your dif in photoshop/ whatever you use, or put a composite into the 'overall diffuse colouration' slot on overlay or multiply or whatever looks best i should think
