Splitting polys by vertex colour?
show user profile  capone
Imagine a cube that is all grey apart from the top face which is orange via vertex colours. I want a simple way to split the orange polygon from the rest. I'm using the cube as a simple example but obviously I'm needing such a solution for more complex assets. Is there a script out there that would separate polys based on vertex values?

I'm not saying it can't be done... but polys tend to share verts. Take the box example for.. err, example.

That top face with orange verts means all the side faces will have 2 orange verts too.
