Tnks StevegeK and Markoid...

here's a bigger version 1000 x 625 px the original image is 1680x1050.

I think Ill change the angle of the teapot... and give a smaller motionblur... my wife told me it looked like a penguin ...??? ... about the wall, Ill give it a try with a simpler texture.

I still have to tweak the camera angle and the cityscape... add some distance fog and variation in the color of the buildings... maybe a little more small elements, maybe some signs or corp logos in the buildings... :) maybe some grass in the edges of the sidewalk... some pebbels ... I'm just thinking loud...

The composition is bugging me a bit, the flying one doesn't read well, and there is too much negative space in the left hand side. But I love the overall style.

What if you made the flying guy bigger and put in a flock. This is what I'm thinking.

This is relevant to my interests

Replying from work, no home pc!

Awesome, I love this. I love all things involving teapots. I like the original composition, but felt the wall looked empty, perhaps put a bench seat there or something to fill the gap, but not steal the attention.

For me, the wall is too saturated and the flying thing's form is too vague, the outline looks odd with that spike at the bottom right.

Awesome, when it's done, I'd love a large version to print out and put on my wall :)

MAybe put a poster on the wall for an ' comming soon air show' featuring teapots, or a government / newspaper 'warning, teapot UFO spotted over city' poster to help fill in the long empty space?
Muter down of course to now draw attention to it.

Tnks a lot for the replys:

G: The composition you made is cool, but the main reason I'm doing this is because I need a wallpaper hehe and thats the res of my monitor (1680x1050). Besides that I like how a flock of teapots looks like... I should give it a try. Tnks for taking the time for doing the recomp...

Nik: I think I'll reduce the motion blur the spike is the wing... I'll try to balance the composition, with something small, and make the wall texture less invasive. And sure you'll get a bigger res image for a print out :)

HappyDude: UFOs poster... hmmm nice idea. but I think that the fact that you need to read something in the scene to understand the image, cuts the "artistic intention", at least in this particular scene.

Tnks for the comments I'm happy to hear more ideas on how to make this image better. :)

Ace composition, love the colors, specialy that wall against the blueish around it, the father and son teapots mix in realy nice... !!

i particulary love this cartoony stuff, and specialy more when it has something to say... and with all this UFO fever goin on here in mexico, and Jaime Mausan pushing people's brains... i think this image is spot on mate!!! congrats!!!

waiting for the finished piece! and next tima ima try to reply with more substance... when i get back home... tomorrow =P

cheers!!!

edit: you know, that could be an idea, one of those posters Jaime Mausan puts everywhere when he visits citys with his conferences about UFOs??... heh... it would be sugestive, but not too obvious... =P

Hey that's really cool! Love the colours :)

What renderer did you use?

If your thinking of following the UFO theme then maybe you could have the silver teapot hovering in the sky and drawing an innocent teapot into it through a tractor beam?? UFO teapot abductions.....

Cheers ;)

The UFO should not be a teapot... it should be a FLYING SAUCER!

I think if I saw that last image (as a teapont) I'd be emoting fright; have one get skinny and jump a bit off the ground, and you've got a winner.

btw, love the background - buildings rock! Everything has a great feel.

I think you should remove the specularity on your tractor beam thing and soften it up towards the edges. Perhaps some self-illumination. You might even consider making it by using a spotlight with volume fog and maybe a sphere close to the light source to remove the volume light effect from the center of the beam.
