The Red Solstice on Kickstarter (and soon on Steam)
show user profile  horizon
Well, I guess we decided to try for Kickstarter.
10 days to go at this point, any help is appreciated.

Whether this KS campaign fails or not, we will be on Steam soon

Also revamped the official TRS website and the official Ironward (team) website:

Good to see this still in action, and grats on getting greenlit.

Though, with that said... I think that might be the reason progress on KS is looking like it might not reach the goal (I hope it does though, obviously). Your game is simply looking too good! And that can be a bad thing on KS. If you say "We need 50k to finish the game" but to most people it pretty much looks like the game is finished already, then there's a lot of questions about what that money is for.

You also mention on the KS page that you've been greenlit, so anyone who'd want to donate to help you finish it might now just do nothing and wait till its on steam.

That said, 50k is but a drop in the ocean when you consider the team + time that's gone into it, it's a shame that such low amounts of money are so hard to raise these days.

Edit
I may have spoken too soon! It seems to be climbing up nicely! Best of luck to all of you guises. I wish I could pledge more but it's "friends getting married season" for me at the moment, which is expensive.

@Dave
I completely understand what you're saying. But more and more people are using KS as almost a preorder platform these days. People get the game sooner and a bit cheaper, and we get exposure from the KS community itself.

The 50k we're asking will not be a matter of life or death, but with that money it can be finished much much sooner than without, benefiting both us and the people that want the game.

@digital3ds
thanks man. We're expecting a ton of players this weekend (mostly sunday), so drop by (there's a free demo) in case our server does not die on us :)

Woop woop, congrats on reaching your goal! Just got the email. I wonder if that makes more people want to pledge, knowing the project is funded so they're guarantee'd to get it, or if people see it's funded and decide not to help? I suppose a little of both?

Well either way, good stuff!

Thanks guys, it's the most awesome news.

Dave, I've been wondering the same, but not sure the remaining hours are enough to clearly pin whatever the trend will be to reaching the goal

Judging from the sudden boom, I'd say it's quite likely that more people will fund a project that's already reached their goal, I think that's like $16k more in 24 hours?
