Sofa modeling problem
show user profile  sheheryar_noor
Hi guys,
I have modeled a sofa like the below image many times but still i model it when ever i get free time, just for practice.

While modeling the above sofa i just saw this round sofa i tried to model it from cylinder with 2 caps segments, chamfered every second vertex and then pull down the polygon but i couldn't get the sofa's look.
I tried making it from plane and then bending plane. It didn't work either, what i have experienced is that for smooth hole after turbosmooth, a vertex should be connected with 8 edged so when we chamfer it, it gives us a nice shape, but in cylinder case my brain isn't working.
Any one would like to help me out and give me suggestion about how to model this round sofa with inward pulled holes

For the top of this one I started with a plane, divided it 11X11 segments, then created a circle-spline, and shape merged. Then to join it to the sides I just shift-dragged downwards and made them two seperate objects (with a ring inbetween to hide the join.

Thank You :), and then u did tesselate by face the inner vertices?or used cut tools. I am keep trying and trying i couldn't get smooth result like you but practicing will get me to have result like u :).
