Snapshot animation - can't get to work
show user profile  dt03mbb
HI Guys

I'm pretty new to Max, and i'm trying to simply animate a ball, running along a path, leaving behind a number of copies of itself at selected points, basically a trail.
I want to do this many many times, so manually is going to take forever!
Everywhere I look it tells me I can use the snapshot tool to clone an object over time - but no matter what I do, it creates all the copies immediately - instead of revealing these over time as it should do?
I.e. instead of leaving behind a trail as it animates, i just end up with one long static trail, and i can;t for the life of me see what i'm doing wrong - its driving me crazy!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, making them all appear at once is how its supposed to work.

Not sure how to do what you want to be honest.

If you haven't used pflow/particles before and are a bit stuck I fancy doing a Jing video tut for this tonight when I get home. Its pretty simple

If you want to look at the max2009 file, here it is too...

You've never lived! ;) yeah yeah i say it wrong, deal with it.

by the way dt03mbb you need to add http:// before your web address in your profile, the link doesn't work properly without it
