Slpines And Pro Boolean
show user profile  bag-it
Hi im currently modeling a Walter ppk .38 cal and im working out the little details on the slide. I am trying to use pro boolean to engrave "Walter .38 Cal" on the side. I make the text using the text in the splines menu and convert it to an editable mesh, extrude it and position it and then use pro boolean. Intead of just cutting into the slide like it should the whole slide disapears and the text remains. I know i am selecting the ojects in the right order because i use boolean alot but i am totally stumped on this one. I would really like to avoiud using a bump map for this so if you have any ideas of what im doing wrong please post.

Thanks ;)

Use the text as a bump/displacement map.

What font are you using?
I just tried it with Ariel and it worked.
It turned the mesh layout to shit but it worked.

Edit: I would normal map it in.
