Skybox from the edge of a nebula...

It has some rendering anomalies I'm trying to figure out, but this certainly shows promise even if I have to remove the anomalies by hand in photoshop. The 6 images used are only 512x512, just sayin'. Render time of the fake volumetric at 512x512 to create these 6 images was ~5.5 to 6.5 minutes a side. Now if I can only get rid of those weird looking artifacts from the light..........

Those rendering artifacts piss me off. Got to find a way around that.

(update)

I just found out those weird 'refraction like' anomalies are caused by the perturbation being on. I just turned them off by a hunch to try and figure out the cause from ground zero, and they completely disappeared. Which is both great and the worst news at once. Perturbation gives a beautiful complexity to the rendered noise. Perhaps some other setting or approach will help.

Some good news! I can change the size/frequency settings just a little up or down from default, and the anomalies also disappear. : D I'm back in business! I'll post a link to the file in a bit. It's set up for a skybox already. Just open the file, ignore the "missing maps" message, and render/reload the max file. It should auto load your output renders...)
