Skinned char looses bone envelope connections after hair/fur face selection.

So Ive made a char, added a normal bone skeleton, skinned the char and altered enveloped to match limbs..alls good! I add a hair/fur modifierto put fur on the char APART from inside mouth and palms and souls using face selection(within he hair/fur modifier). When I go to animate I move a bone the areas Unselected in the hair fur modifier are now unafected by skinning, ie when I move the bones the palms, souls and mouth arnt connected?
it seems the editmodifier below skin must have all polys selected to assign the skin with bone data, then when you add the hair/fur modifier and select the polys that only have the fur on the skin data below uses the Hair/fur modifier poly selection for the skinning?

The problem is you're using face selection. Use a vertex painting modifier to control the hair mask.

[edit] also, I wouldn't leave my phone number on a forum site. But maybe that's just me.

thanks for the info! im lost though I wouldnt have a clue how to do that? I looked at the hair fur modifier to select vertices but there isnt that option there only guides elements polygons and faces? could you let me know what to do briefly im a noob!
OR im happy to email the file to look at?

Ok I tried your way but getting roaming hairs AHHH! I found the solution..
1. make mesh / texture it.
2. Make bone structure
3. collapse mesh to editable poly
4 skin mesh assign bone (mesh now skinned and working correctly.
5. Add another edit mesh modifier
6. select polys where you want fur
7. Add hair fur wdm and it uses the newest selection and the skin uses the first selecton

what a ball ache lol
