skin problem
show user profile  Thrayn
i have a free .3ds file of a woman posing. if possible, i wish to take this pose and change it so that she is in the standard skin position (T shape you know) so i can rig her. the website claimed that the model could be used in games and such, so i'm assuming she WAS rigged to get into the position.

is it possible to rig her?

if anyone is interested in helping me i can send you the file or upload pics.

thanks.

*edit - I found the website link for the file. http://artist-3d.com/free_3d_models/dnm/model_disp.php?uid=1199&count=count

notice that there are 2 other female figure .3ds files.
there is also another .max file for some naked girl model.
none have bones or rigging in them, yet they all have poses or facial expression..
surely these models do more than just sit there.

*edit 2 - ooo. it's a sculpture, it's not even supposed to be a character.
still... is it possible?
perhaps i could place bones as carefully as possible then reposition her? i already tried and failed, but its because i don't know how to use bones that well.

if someone could dl the file and do it for me, that'd be stellar. the only problem is that it is cut up into multiple subobjects, which i have no idea why that would be. the author grouped them in the order he modeled them, i think.

what i did was i took out EVERYTHING but the body (head, torso, etc), and grouped it. i think it could be done after that.

i don't want to waste my time trying to do it if it can't be done, because it will take me a long time to figure out, i'm new.

ideas?
