Shape/ Polygon Editing.
show user profile  Emphacy
so, i've made the basic layout of a house, (i.e all of the lower walls)
i'm not the best at using 3DS MAX, and to be honest i'm rather rubbish

so help is needed,
I need to cut holes in each wall for doors and windows etc.
Making the length and width segments small enough, to accurately cut out a preice shape, say 50 length seg's and 50width segs then converting to editable polygon and deleting polygons seems a little long winded.

not to mention if i want to apply a material to onpart of the wall, I have to select all the polygons I want to apply to, then apply material, is that right?

Is there any easier way of making holes in walls for doors and windows, or is this just going to take me a long time?

Much Appreciated, Thanks

Wall/Window/Door setup:

When using this method the mat ids are already set up. Just use the eye dropper tool in the mat editor and pick the wall, window or door and you'll have your template material all ready.
