Shadows appearing lighter
show user profile  Nekororo
I'm having this problem where shadows are appearing as a horrible flat grey rather than the black they should render as. it also removes detail, just like a pitch black shadow would.
it's just a basic lighting setup.. omni set to 0.8, ray traced shadows, and that's it. never had a problem like this before in the 3 years i've been using 3DS. I had light tracer with a skylight earlier on, but i removed the skylight and light tracer, etc

can anybody help please?

cheers, ~Pete

-Check if your ambient color is black
-Check if there's any exposure control on.
-Check the shadow multiplier of your omni.

Hope that helps :)
