I'm coming from C4D and trying out Max now.
I've alternated the way I navigate in the 3D S Max scene but that makes it hard to make selections.
To add to a, let say point selection, you can hold control. And then remove selections with the alt-button. Is there a way to change those settings? I've checked in the customize menu but I can't find those alternatives in the lists of commands.

Thanks for any replies!

What is the selection method in C4D by comparison? What would you rather Max do, that it currently isn't doing for you? In Edit Poly, you can change the selection routine preview selection to SubOBJ or Multi, which will "paint" the subobjects beneath your cursor, similar to what I've seen in C4D or Modo, then you just click the mouse to engage the selection you "painted". Also, holding SHIFT will select an entire loop, or ring of subobjects, etc. There's various ways the selection methods in Max work.
