Scrolling Gif
show user profile  PS3D

I want to create a very simple "scrolling gif" image, using the wireframe and final render of an image.
See below a snap shot of what i mean.
I want the gif to start with the wire frame image, and then slowly move right revealing the coloured render. Can this be done easily in photoshop?

Yes. Go to "Window" at the top menu and select "timeline." Now you'll have a toolbar at the bottom.

There is no trick. just make a beginning frame and and end frame then tween between them i.e. make a transition of frames (it's a button near the new-frame one).

I can make the transition of frames, but all that does is it just gradually fades the first image out until is reveals the final image..

What i want is to keep both images solid, but the transition is the movement from left to right.

You can move it frame by frame if you like.

I think doing it in HTML or CSS is the way forward, rather than Photoshop.
This is the sort of thing Im after, but not bothered about it being diagnal.

Flash is on it's way out, but you can reveal areas of an image on mouseover, not sure if there's a html equivalent, reveal area is a simple mask.

You need to tween a layer mask in Photoshop. Deff don't need to do that with html. Hell you could do it in after effects and export frames then use photoshop to tween that. Thre prob 5 other ways to do this easily.

Setup camera.

Hit Auto-Key.

Select white, wireframe textured plane.

Move it to the right.

Hit Auto-Key.

press Render.

Compile rendered frame output into gif. Because gif is all the rage these days.

The Idea is good, but I find the end result very disturbing, irritating and frustrating. I would leave your portfolio after ten secunds.
I'd prefer that diagonal slide that has been posted before, if you really want to do this:

Congrats, you found my signature.

Nope, still can't loose myself in your render this way. It feels like you hiding something.

Congrats, you found my signature.
