Max script.... is there such thing as AutoCAD script?...

Had an Idea today. most of the parts I use in building machinery, everything from bolts and nuts to bearings and motors etc, I draw in Cad or in 3dsMax. It would be good to have a script which runs through the title of each block, cross checks it to a list of prices and then displays a total cost of parts.

Not asking anyone to do it for me, but does anyone know if AutoCAD supports anything like this or any kind of scripting similar to MAXscript?
