Scanline: My effort.

I know everyone says that scanline is shite but I thought I would see how good I could get it looking.
The reason for this is is lack of 'deeper' understanding of MR. The scene is mine but she's makehuman.
Any one stuck with scanline without putting a fist through a monitor?

Well there is nothing wrong with scanline per se, however it is just lacking the features that everyone has come to expect in a modern renderer.

You can't really do realistic lighting without a LOT of tedious cheating.

Other than her skin, and the perfectly shiny reflections on the floor and bathtub, it looks good to me.

Scanline isn't bad,, IMO it just requires knowing tricks rather than actual lighting-physics.. But when you have that down, you can make some good looking images, that render terribly fast..

I used to lave playing around with simple lighting arrays, where some lights are there to remove shadows, while others are only there to cast certain shadows. I could have, like a hundred light sources, but because of them being simple light sources, it would still render super fast.

Scanline is lacking in the fancy shader department though.

Terribly boring signature.
