I have a problem that has been bugging me since I started importing models into 3ds max, & I want to get rid of this confusion.
I do model in Revit my architectural jobs and I use millimeter scale. For example if I take a measurement of a wall thickness it is 300mm . When I import the file into 3ds max with the max system scale in millimeters I notice that when placing a daylight system for mental ray , the compass is well off and I cannot control it which will lead to render problems I believe.
If I change the max system scale to meters and import the file and then rescale it to millimeters , this works fine and the compass sits nicely ....
But still I am confused ..
what is the best way guys to import ( not link ) a model into max ??
and if the scale is not right will it affect the render?
