Hey, guys!

Just finished some funking exhausting project.
Exhausting mostly because of clients inability to provide all the needed materials in time.
And then blaming us for procrastinating.

Well, nvm.

I want maxforums people to roast this video so we can up our game in arch viz.

Techincs, critics, ideas, tech. advices everything is welcome.

Hey, nice video. Though the music is strange, but I get you can't do much about that.
The ribbon looked like a neat idea for the first time. But later on turned out to be boring, and yet irritating.

As of the visuals, it feels like Cities Skyline got rendered.

Thanx. Good to hear independent fresh opinions.
I will think about minimizing ribbon parts.
Music was a fast choice. Kind of energetic positive touch.
But i heard you.

Watching youtube on Cities skyline ))

So what can be done to make it look less like a game visuals?
More intensive texturing?

I like it, overall the quality is quite ok :) The people add life so it doesnt look boring. Aggree on the ribbon, i dont think you need it.
All the colors are a bit flat, same goes for the shading :)

Not a bad video. i agree, The ribbon is annoying after a while. I like how you mixed things up like the cars not being 100 straight in the parking spots. A lot of times, you see something like this and everything is perfectly aligned and perfectly spaced. making things a little off makes it feel less mechanical.

Yeah, well not everything you can predict by breaking down a storyboard.
I agree ribbon gets boring after few shots.

Materials need a lot of loving. Camera movements were nice and smooth.

I actually came out of that with the same question as Bolts. Like, could you provide an example of something you were trying to replicate? Or were you aiming for realism?

The video isn't telling me anything and the music sounds like it's more suited for an advert for tampons.

I would like to see the reference aswell. I can tell a shitload of work went into this, I would say if you wanted to lift the quality 2 things stand out to me immediately - materials and camera. The materials are quite flat, it seems like the majority is just diffuse, it needs alot more specular, bump, displacement, variated terrain heights (you probably avoided this due to the animation - which is understandable but it looks quite flat). The camera work appears like Im watching a snippet from the game sims. The camera looks like a default FOV too, leaving this at 35mm always looks game-ish and the movements are far too linear.

There's something odd about that family photo on a building at 0.56. The grandmother looks kind of goofy.
