rigging help
show user profile  stevey2shoes
Can anyone recommend a goof video tutorial for rigging a character.
So far I've used biped, skin modifier and morph, but I get the feeling that these aren't the best way to set up a character to animate them.

What a moron,
I bought it, thinking it was a 3 disc set, I've effectively bought disc 1 of 3. If anything it was the texturing and rigging i needed help with.
what a moron

I can't assume anything about the methods taught in the Eva Wild DVD's, but I've personally never been impressed with the end-results, even when it was new.

I personally really liked the cg academy intermediate rigging set by Paul Neale

What I'm saying is, I cannot comment on the training itself as I haven't looked at what is being taught, and how. BUT, the end result is some man beast of a creation, so while it could theoretically be some amazing training, the finished result is massively off-putting:

Haha :)

My initial thought was, it`s probably using bones/biped and skin/physique modifiers in the tutorial anyway, which is what you were looking to get away from. But i think any decent tutorial recommended to you WILL use those but importantly should teach you how to do it `properly` and answer a lot of your questions..

Or you could wing it and learn through any half-decent online tutorials ( there are tons )..

OK so before I buy these other 2, can anyone tell me if the 3rd disc does teach rigging with bones biped skin or physique, or whether they teach it properly.?

I don't know about Eva Wild. I got CG Academy. All of their rigging tutorials are also on youtube, if you don't want to fork out more cash. I think they are brilliant. See for yourself if it's what you're after.

thanks for that find herfst1.
Seriously how do you people remember this stuff. I've already forgotten how to uv unwrap, and remember what a drama that was for me. Right now I get the feeling I wont make any more progress for another couple of years.
