Rigging a watch strap
Hi guys - I'm still here, quietly! :)
It's been a crazy busy year which is great, but not so good for keeping up with posts here. Anyway...
I'm trying to rig a watch strap, the rubbery kind, not metal. I need to animate the watch going onto a wrist basically. I've been playing with different ways of doing it but can't see to get something to work just how I want it. The watch strap is all one mesh which is causing me part of the problem.
I know it's a dead simple one for someone who is more skilled with the animation side of Max than me - care to point me roughly in the right direction please?

This is a very basic building block. If you wanted to go more advanced you could try reaction controls, which are the bomb (but a tad more confusing to set up).

Cheers Nic, sorry for the late reply I haven't checked in at all over Christmas... hic! Hope you had a good one too mate. :)
I had tried using a bend mod, not quite in that way though, that is a sweet method! However not sure if that's going to cut it for me this time. This causes the face to bend too which shouldn't happen.
I tried adding bones to the strap but i couldn't get it to bend as uniformly as the bend modifier method, i had a lumpy looking strap!
