How do I rig and animate a character made out of splines converted into editable poly's???

I made a character out of separate splines then used a standard biped to try and connect the offending splines to the biped/Physique Modifier/envelope to no avail!

Do I need to convert the splines to a mesh or poly to get the (Physique Modifier) envelopes to recognise the mesh???

Please help guys and girls!!!

I honestly haven't tried anything like that. But it's not farfetched to imagine those modfiers requiring actual mesh to work. I mean, a spline (if not set to renderable) is just a line with no surface, so there isn't really anything there... Besides, could I see a screencap please? I'm interested to see how a character made out of splines look...

i dont know about physique or biped (when will people leave them already :p) but bones/skin has no problem working with splines either as the affecter or as the affected. Whats cooler tho is spline ik control modifier you can slap on splines giving you control over the bezier curve handle too, the modifier is kinda flaky tho so you cant make any more changes under its stack.
