Rhino corner issue
show user profile  CreativeMinds
Hello!

Anyone here uses Rhino to do your model and import your finished model to 3ds max for rendering and texture?

I am having an issue on Rhino where all the corners of the model looks edgy and awful and not very smooth. I use a tool in Rhino call FilletEdge. I wanted to know if I import my model into 3ds max, will all the corners look better and smooth when rendering?

Any idea how to get my corners looking better in Rhino or in Max.

Thanks for any advice!!!

what your seeing is just the polygonal approximation around the curves... once you convert/export out to a polygonal mesh file (like obj) you'll get to choose how detailed you want your mesh to be.

so in other words, dont worry about it.

Bolteon, thanks for your help.

The funny thing about Rhino is that when I rounded the corners and move the object to a different location, the rounded corners still stay at the same place. It does not move with the object. LOL

I also tried to mesh the object and bump up the polygons to the highest and still, the rounded corners did not even move with the object. It seems like the rounded corners just sits there. LOL

I think there is something wrong with Rhino.

errr... you might want to do a few tutorials first.

it's not rhino, it's you.

(btw, in some instances when you fillet edges, it creates two objects if your first one isn't a solid... you might want to try grouping the created surfaces).
