[Request] Dramatic Sky timelapse HD
show user profile  Pil
Hello guys and gals.

Im looking for some help shooting a video timelapse clip to use as backdrop in a music video Im working on.
I live in Denmark and to be honest our sky is not very dramatic.
Its plain blue and boring :-)

So if anyone of you guys living around the world could do me a real big favour and shoot a video timelapse I would really appreciate it.

Here is a video showing what Im after:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOU4mjBgZVM

Im looking for something like the one beginning at 1:38

It should be around 20 sec (after its been timelapsed) and in HD 1080.

Being a poor musician I can only offer you full credit and a CD copy of my bands first CD and and copy of the coming CD (it will be out later this year) from where the video will be used.

Let me know if anyone is up for the task?

Being a dane youself you should know that musicians in Denmark dont make all that money.
Besides being a musician is all I do for a living.

Being poor doesnt say anything about the quality of the music I make!

I was planning to go out and about on the weekend, some big surf forcast on the weekend so I will see what I can do for you. Sea scape any good for you? What time of day do you want, sun set ect. 20 secs enough? Throw a little more detail of what you want what mood you want to capture and I will have a play.

Thanks Alex.

Sea scape will do just fin.
I only really need the sky so the less of the horizon the better. Otherwise I'll just crop it.

It would be perfect to have the sun setting in the smack middle of the clip if you have teh choise. I understand that you have no control over the exact location of the sun :-)

But if you could have the sun in the midlle of both the horizontal and vertical plane that would be optimal. But its the movement of the clouds that Im most interested in so if you have a choise with a spot with more clouds but no sun, go for the coulds.

Its hard to tell how fast clouds move that day but I would guess that a 5 min clip would do fine.
With the time compressed down to 20 secs it should move plenty.

But the more dramatic colors of the sky the better so around sunset would probably be best.

Pil.. The way you worded it 'poor musician', has two meanings, both a musician with no money, or a musician with no skills.. It was an attempt at the funny.

Terribly boring signature.

Down in Cornwall the sun sets into the sea and I think on the weekend it should be fairly cloudy and stormy. I will try and get a couple of 5 min slots, my camera does hd vid, so no worries there. Hopefully I can get something you can use.

I was wanting to go and do some stuff on the weekend but had no idea what to do so it will be a nice little project for me and hopefully help you too. Everybody wins!

That would be really cool no matter what.

If the footage is useful I'll setup an ftp server so you can dump it somewhere :-)

Dont worry about that. I will use mine and dump it on a back page in a zip folder.

Sorry Pil, bad news. Saturday was overcast with no wind at all, drove from south coast to north in hope to find some wind. No clouds moving anywhere. Sunday rained all bloody day. I will keep my eye out this week for a good day but it might be worth hitting the link from nick. Sorry mate.

Hey Alex

No problem. I use a temp from that site for now.
Let me know if you are able to get something later on as I have a full year deadline for this project :-)

Thanks for your effort so far.
