Why my rendered image differs from what I see in ViewPort when using an object with Material and Mental Ray?
I have an object which uses a Material(a one from Autodesk Library). I am modeling a chair and this is the chair surface. I used the Scale "Height & Width" with a value of 3. It's looking good in the ViewPort. However, when I render with Mental Ray, my chair has a very rough surface. It looks very different from what I see in viewport. If I use the standard "3ds max render", it looks very good but I have other issues(my chair elements do not get chrome effect).
So, to summarize, my surface is different from what I see in ViewPort when I render with Mental Ray. It's okay with "3ds standard render" but that's not the case.
Here is the screenshot:

Looks like you have two issues there:
1. Your viewport lighting isnt set to 'use scene lights', probably set to 'use default lights'.
2. It looks like that material is using a procedural map. Set it to Explicit Map in the material settings and it should display correctly in both.

That fixed it, thank you very much!
