Render time question.

So I'm a relatively new user to 3ds max.

I'm making a scene, and in it I have made a fire sprinkler, roof mounted one. Anyway, I've put a Parray in the sprinker and used a Udeflector on the actual sprinkler so as you've guessed, i'm simulating the sprinkler! lol

So, I've got it all modelled and its looking pretty cool.

My problem is though, when animating it, my render times go through the roof!!!

I am not running a crap system at all, 6x3.2ghz AMD, 8gb ram, Radeon 6870hd

So yeah, is it normal for it to be taking over 15minutes per frame with stuff like this?

Also, I can't preview it either, as soon as my particles hit the deflector it crawls so much that i can't even see what its doing :(

Any help or ideas are more than welcome :)

An image and some render settings would help.
Maybe 15 minutes are justified, maybe not.

ive had scenes take over a week per frame, it depends on complexity and we have no clue about yours

and what if you could do it in 30 seconds? Post images of your scene and your settings to allow people leave feedback.
