Relief Map Plugin

Does anyone have a 3ds max relief mapping plug in for Mental Ray? I have been trying to find something all day and have been close many times, but foiled by bad/outdated links. I literally must have spent 4 hours scrolling through threads and google trying to find something this morning.

Has anyone got a plugin that can do this somewhere?

I don't get it...Isn't relief mapping just a form of displacement, but in realtime?
Mental ray isn't realtime, and it has that micropoly displacement what are you after exactly?

Well, I was under the impression that Parallax was real-time, but that relief was effectively a shading way to get similar results to displacement without disturbing the geometry. I am modelling brickwork and looking to see if there is a shader that can produce decent results around the corners without needing displacement. I know that there are shaders out their for Mental Ray, minRelief is one ( , but it is proprietary for someones works.

I know that there have been a few others out there, but the links to them are either bad, or outdated. What I basically need is a way to make the edges of the brickwork look correct, but without displacement, doesn't Mental Ray's displacement still add a lot of complexity to the scene? I thought the only difference between it and standard displacement was that it is added at rendertime as oppose to held in the scene information.
