Hey all.

I've been off the forum for a while but I've managed to learn quite a bit in the mean time. I'm getting to grips with adding foliage with mrproxies and have also picked up quite a bit of knowledge I was seriously lacking in terms of lighting and GI solutions.

This is a REALLY rough render - which I totally blasted in photoshop to see if a some quick and dirty blurring might make more presentable. FAIL. But you get the idea hopefully.

Anyone care to crit me please? I'll try to re-render with higher antialias and get rid of the stupid glossiness that made its way into the carpet.

I think the outside is wayyy blown out. I understand it would be brighter and white like that, but it's almost too much (I think, but then again, I don't know anything).

im liking the outside, gives a nice contrast and focus. im really disliking the concept of strong light on the stairwell.

It is a very rough render it'strue, but I'm impatient and I've only got a 32bit system dual core with 4gb of ram. When I do previews I keep the AA very low for time saving.

Thanks for the input thus far. I'll try to polish it a bit before I post again but that might be a day or so cos I'm under pressure with real work :).

Ok, so I calmed down the overblown sunshine a little and de-crappified the rendering somewhat. I've not got anything outside apart from a plane and the trees, but the main goal I've been aiming for is correctly exposed outdoor details on an interior rendering.

The staircase has a holy-glowing-light-phenomenon because there's a window halfway up the stairs. It's not some overpowered fluorescent and I know it looks a bit fake, but I think it is about accurate.

I'm not happy with the overly dark lampshades still - they need some work - and I might put some colour on one or two of the walls. There is a feature wall paper on the wall behind the counter but obviously thats not in view.

Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.
