| Realistic landscape and forest, what plugin to use? |
bratok |
Hi guys, I've been a little outdated on the newest plugins and technologies so bear with me. :)
I need to design a realistic landscape with grass, trees, meadows, etc. what plugins would you suggest for it? i.e. designing trees ( some modern version of tree-druid ) and designing the landscape itself ( modern version of bryce ) ?

It simply does not work as shown or advertised. It is terribly complex and very buggy with regard to integrating with MAX. Integrating your scenes with MAX is kinda the point.....and this does not work well....at all. I tried everything.....even to the extent of exporting the stuff....but then it comes in all jacked. I needed it for a tight deadline job,...and after getting on their support forums I found everyone was saying the same thing: It doesnt work.

Vue has always been buggy, had a stupid interface, and generally been a bit odd. Shame to hear the max integration sucks, as it looks like it makes pretty pictures.

If it doesn't have to be a plugin, terragen is worth a look...

Yea I remember looking at that company a while ago, but they didn't have much up yet, looks like they have come a long way and their software looks sweet!

Yeap... Dr. Jim, I'm starting to understand how you feel. Vue already screwed up my vray setting, it is giving hard shadows, sometimes clamps on the viewport ( can't zoom in or out ). Also can't figure out what's with the material editor, how do I apply the vue material to an object?
