Reactor / grouped objects question
show user profile  one fm
In 3ds Max 9, reactor doesnt seem to allow any mass on grouped objects. How can I get around this to get my grouped objects to react in the scene?

I don't have Max open but I think you can ungroup them, link constrain your objects to a dummy and have what amounts to a group, and it will still interact in reactor.

Yea, I just link constrained the objects, and set mass for each object. They all went to a mess on the floor. I am going to try to just add mass to the lead object in the hierarchy..

To be specific. I have 3 Windex cleaner type bottles falling on to a table top. Each of the bottles are composed of 5 parts. Bottle, liquid, label, and nozle parts. I need them to react as a whole individual bottle without breaking into pieces.. I'm so close!

Jeez why not just attach them to make 3 whole bottles!

I've tried to attach the parts as a whole, but the materials get changed. Even after I select for them to keep their respected materials in line.. I'm rendering with Mental Ray..
