Reactor drape
show user profile  del3d
Hi there,

I've never used Reactor before so please bear with me. I'm trying to create drapes for an arch vis however I can't get them to animate.. I'm tired of manual modelling (after having done so many times) and it looks like reactor does it instantly. So I'm starting with a vertical flat plane and I'd like to squish its top array of vertices to get a nice wavy look. I've made a few tests and it works great, I can hang it off a clip, hit it with an object and etc. This is really cool stuff.. However I have no idea how to analyze the world with consideration of what is happening within analyzed objects - I animated the top row of plane vertices and also animated the rigid body... It looks like reactor doesn't care about max timeline. Below youtube video perfectly depicts what I'm looking for. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Make the box a deforming mesh instead of solid body and attach verts.
You need to play with the cloth settings ..stiffness, damping etc to get the cloth to 'calm down' sooner.

I'll give it a shot, thanks!

edit: works as supposed to! Seriously slows down the machine, too..
