[V-Ray] Custom Reflectivity Function; like A&D?
show user profile  Nanne
Hello V-Ray users :)

I'm fiddling with the VRayMtl but I can't figure out how to control the reflectivity depending the angle, like you can with the Arch & Design Material in mental ray. I.e:

Am I missing something here or am I simply limited to use the Fresnel IOR?

Oh, so it is old school style :) No built-in function?

the standard 3dsmax falloff map has an option to use a curve, it has for ages :-)

I'm back on V-Ray again, so I bump this question.

Do you use the Falloff Map for this? Or do you always use the Fresnel IOR when working with V-Ray? I almost always use the Custom Reflectivity Function when working with mental ray, using a Falloff Map seems like more work, inconvenient in a way.

I mostly use the fresnel IOR function. Occasionally I need more flexibility and will use a falloff map.

Cheers, I guess that's why there are all these IOR tables in a lot of V-Ray forums.
