Quick tool to unwrap "curved pipes" ?

Yep, spline unwrap. Fast forward about 7 minutes to see it in action.

Thats what I was looking for.
Now, to figure out how to use it ...
on first try it gave me a mess on my object
I think I got it.
I need to pick an edge that goes all the way through. export it as a line and then select it from the spline unwrap menu.
Evantually it seems to work okay after some manual tweaks.

Glad there is a solution in max, but Im going to mention uvlayout whenever I can because its great for UVs

why dont u use a sweep with a uvw xform and a really long mapping?
