quick p-flow question
show user profile  Boing
i'm trying to learn particle flow and had a quick query, under the "position icon" panel, the lock on emitter control is confusing me. it claims this "glues" the particles to the emitter but when ticked my particles are still pouring out unless i turn off the speed controller.

could someone offer a brief explanation of the function?

Works for me mate. Tick lock on emitter and they stick there. Can you post up your pflow tree?

sorry, my mistake, i had it set to spawn on collision, the newly spawned particles were flowing out because they were on a different event and i though they were the originals.

this is gonna be fun to learn.....

actually, i've one more question, is the PF source the only thing that shows up in particle view? if i choose one of the other systems like cloud it doesn't appear.

specifically if i wanted to add a defletor to a particle system presumably i'd need to do it with a pf source as you can't seem to add deflectors to the self-contained systems.

you need to use the link to space warp button (next to the regular link button) and link the particle emitter to the deflector object.
