The amount of detail you have put into that is is astounding. Borderline epic.

very impressive. my only crits are that it seems a little underlit for up in the sky, everything is VERY bright up there, and also, you appear to have cumulus clouds above AND below the jet, which doesn't make sense since normally their bottoms are all almost perfectly level with eachother.
but as already stated, astounding detail.

please keep in mind that this is an ingame model with approx 60.000 polygons - just with vray material and lighting... so some areas might appear a bit edgy.

a game model with 60k polies? surely you mean 60k polies on the high res model used to make the normal map.... if not what system is this ON that a vehicle gets 60k polies.... nathan drake only had like 80k and he was like a third the polies on screen at any time in uncharted 2.....

nope, thats 60k polygons and it runs very well ;) the average polycount for this type of application lies between 80 and 100k approximatly. What you don't see here is the entire landing gear, gear bay interior etc as the gear is retracted in these shots ;) but its all there...

Looks good!
Is this one of yours? I found it on the wall at work and thought, hmm that looks familier.

stunning.
i wonder, could you pimp a high poly version of this to the correct people? i can imagine it to be near perfect without all those noticeable facets.

lol coz you're obviously the only person that would create an image of a plane.
Amazing work mate. Getting it hold up at that size being that low poly is top-drawer stuff. good going.

thanks for the comments! :)
well, unfortunatly its not that simple that I could just throw a turbosmooth on it. It has been designed as low poly model and not a subd model... so therefore there are already lots of things that are cut out (gear doors, passenger doors, windows, etc). So I should have started with a fresh fuselage, smooth it and cut it from the high poly version then. Too much work for just a few posters ;)
Yeah well that real A380 on the pic might look similar to mine but isnt that the whole point of doing all this? :D
