Providing a morphable model to a client
show user profile  soontekk
Hi All,

I need to check if i can provide a model to my surgeon client enabeling him to have control over my morphtargets.
It's a face that has about 5 morphtargets that he wants to 'mix' at his own disposal at any time.

Sofarthe only way i see this happen is buying him max and set up a sliderbased scene, which imo is not the bestest of solutions if not a very expensive one.

Any ideas on this are welcomed greatly.
Cheers
tkk

Dude....
Im not following...
He doesnt have MAX,...and you want to give him some stand-alone file-thingy that he can run and animate the morph targets?

You could in theory, create 2d animations of the various facial features animating...with soft edged mattes,...the comp it all together with the face base, in Flash...and script up an interface to control it.

yeah i know but picture this
the 5 morphtargets are all at 50 percent and heavily interacting with eachother
no way you can do that with images, it will just be 5 overlays and look like a picasso :o

would be nice if some 3dviewer had some control over max's sliders for example

You know wildpockets may just be able to do that, you can import animation files (exported from their own max plugin, and put buttons on the screen to activate them, the meshes much use skin but it mauy well be worth looking into. Post up on their forum and see if its what you want. (its still in beta stage, but it works great for my bugatti model: http://www.maxforums.org/thread.aspx?TID=557830&P=4
