Projection Lenses
show user profile  ccampbell
Hey Guy's, I'm trying to create a very short throw "Image" projector say 1-2 feet throw with a width/height of about 2ft x 2ft. or something similar.

I would like to be able to use a mask( some clear film with a pattern on it) and broad cast that pattern onto an object say 1ft max from the light source.

1) Is this possible?
2) What lens(s) might I need?

Not urgent but would be nice to know... Also if anybody has any better ideas of how to do this rather than a DIY image projector I would be really intersted to hear it.

Thanks!

So the problem with that solution is fidelity. Ive tried with off the shelf flashlights and transparency's, paper, cardboard, lasers with image caps etc... just about all of that needs a long through to be create a clear image. Or a really bright light which doesn't come in your standard c and D cell flashlights... I think I may need some lenses for sure and a ultra bright led with a whide spread spectrum but dont know much about optics and reading up inst helping me with the type of lense(frenel, convex, concave) and the relative radius/curvatgure of the lenses nor seperation distances etc....
