Problem with UI overlays
show user profile  magarlick
Hi folks

I cannot get the UI overlays on my render window to display (Max 2011, Win 7 x64). There is a button at the top to toggle them on and off, but when I click it, nothing happens. I have never seen this before, and it was working fine before I had to reinstall my OS. It is probably something stupid I have done somewhere. Anybody have any ideas please?

Thanks

Hi again. Another day spent trying to fix this without luck. I uninstalled Max, deleted the application folder, then reinstalled. I also installed the various hotfixes (three of them), and two service packs. Nothing. The Toggle UI button (next to Toggle UI Overlays on the render window) is simply not there. Nothing I do will bring it back.

I tried changing the render to Mental Ray, and that is the same. All the rendering option that normally come up at the bottom of the rendering window are gone. Only the window.

I'd really appreciate some help if anybody has seen this before.

Kind regards.

Have you used multiple display screens? That's often a cause for losing UI panels.

No. I found the problem now. In Preference Settings, MaxScript tab, the checkboxes under Startup had been unticked. Checking them all and restarting fixed it.

Thanks anyway.
