Problem with silly blowouts

Hey All,

In 3ds 2011 and Vray, can anyone explain the blowouts I'm getting in my shots and what can be changed to fix the problem? Please see picture below. These little un-natural areas of mysterious light are doing my head in.

Light cache low settings.
Retrace threshold should do.

Thanks 3joez but I'm using 3ds 2011 and there is no Tetrace Threshold option.
Do you know of any other option in my older version of Max?
It seems to help when I put my secondary bounces to Brute Force and set the irradiance map to high or very high, but that increases render time by quite a bit.

Try to increase the light cache subdivs gradually.
Anyway the retrace option is in Vray, under light cache. And "check sample visibility" should help too, under irradiance map.
