problem - linked ACAD file
show user profile  mike_renouf
I linked an AutoCAD drawing with all 2D objects in it, to use as a guide for modelling a 3D scene. At somepoint I moved some objects from that linked file onto different layers. When I disconnected the CAD file, instead of all the 2D objects disappearing, they're still present. These objects are "linked geometry" type, and cannot be deleted. They can be selected and moved etc, but not deleted.

I really don't want to have to merge all the desired objects into another scene, so does anyone have a workaround for killing the offending objects? I have tried converting them to editable poly and then deleting, which kind of works, but is terribly slow, since there are hundreds of them.

Help please?!

If all else fails, you could automate the converting to epoly and deleting with maxscript.
