More Pro Boolean problems
show user profile  bag-it
Hi this ppk i am making is coming along great but i have run into a problem. I have made the handle and frame from a spline that has been beveled and then mirrored and then collapsed. I am ready to cut the hole for the trigger but when i pro boolean it the frame dissapears and the object that is supposed to be cutting the hole remains. I am sure i am selecting the two obects in the right order so i have no clue what is wrong. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks ;)

Boolean always screws something up. Better to model the hole as an editable poly.
Look up the Bridge command in the user reference.elete a face on each side, click bridge, and then the edge ledt on each side. http://www.lordpanzer.com/jing/bridge.swf

When using booleans, as a last resort always, make sure you have no holes in your mesh, and that all the verts are welded.

Dissapearing is usually a result of it not knowing what to do when it goes to calculate the boolean and finding a hole.
