Hmm.. I use Premiere pro for cutting, editing, transitions and some minor minor color correction...

Normally I don't view Premiere Pro as an effects software. That's After Effects job and I think Adobe developed it that way.

When I work I manage all effects in AE and do a hotlink (or live link, forgot what it's specifically called) to the AE comp. This allows me to do all my editing/audio/transitions in Premiere while incorporating what AE has to offer.

If you are doing heavy color grading I'd look into SpeedGrade (if you have the cloud). Last time I checked though (long time ago), SpeedGrade did not have the live link option (which is super stupid and I hope they fixed this). I'm not a color guy by any means. I just do minor stuff, nothing heavy.

The Cloud is pretty great man. It's just important to use the right software for the right job. This gets convoluted though with all the plugins that make an overlap of software functionalities.
