Power station update
show user profile  Dmaxer
Ive not had much time to work on this project for a bit but I did get a some time this week ,so Ive been working on the lighting, I think its better but not quite right yet,
Ive added pipe work and the steam tanks to the lower floor. added the caving on some of the stone work. and played with the textures a bit, Ive also worked on the scale of some things , theres still a few bits to fix but its getting there ,Ive had a few guys say it looks to clean , by all accounts it was kept very clean for years. Below is some text from a reporter that wrote about the turbine hall 3 year on from when it opened.

"The turbine hall when fully lighted bears a resemblance to an ultra-modern restaurant as far as decoration is concerned. down each side of the hall is a long row of fluted columns faced with antique tiles of a greyish tint marbled with faint blue markings, the walls being faced with the same tiles made to resemble blocks of masonry. They obviate the expense of new decorations in years to come , for a touch of soap and water will keep them clean as long as they last. The same reason the handrails fencing the wells are made of specially processed steel that will retain its gleaming lustre for years. the floors are kept clean by attendants who walk up and down using electric washers and scrubbers. Everything is so bright and spotless that it scarcely seems possible that the turbines could have been droning away for three years. The turbines are completely enclosed in dark grey and black casings with a cellulose finish which matches that of the finest motor car."

Photobucket just a clay test for the lighting.

There's something weid happening under that balcony (almost at the center). Could be a reflection?

Huge piece of work! And I love the render. A hint of atmospheric perspective, maybe?
Do you plan on making some night renders? They would be gorgeous!

Lovely work, hopefully you will be putting in the atmospheric effects you had in your earlier renders for your finals.

Thanks for the comments guys , I will be putting in some atmos fx later , "There's something weid happening under that balcony" yeah thats because I move them parts about and did not redo the FG map , will sort it out next time ,

Chris123643 , do you mean the control rooms ? if so then yes Im still working on those and the B side turbine hall, then I got the boiler house to do. so still lots to be keeping me busy :).

Looking really good man! I think it would be cool if there was a wee man on the floor there leaning over one of the barriers or something.
