possible big file to small file?....

good day!!!!

my question is there's a possible way to make a big file of tree reduce to small file?
cause i see some max file that the tree is on the box only,how does it work,can you give me some tutorial regarding this,hope you understand me,thanks a lot,hope someone will response....

you could render the tree with an alpha channel (32 bit output file format such as TIF) from the front and from the side, then in a fresh max scene, make two planes forming a cross shape when viewed from on top. Apply the two renders to the planes and use the alpha channel as the opacity map.

That will give you the bare basics suitable for distant trees. Your tree will only have 4 polygons so will be very fast.

this is the sample file i got

the question is how did hapen or can somebody know how to do it,please tell me,cause i am animating a building that must have a tree,but it tree could make a big file,please tell me how to do this or reduce the file,hope anybody would understand my ask,thank's,hope someone will response.....

As Dub said. This is an image on a box in your case, not actual geometry. If you need to recreate that tree you will need the image and map it on your box. You shouldn't be worried about file size because like Dub said it's only a few poly's.

it's made using opacity maps. an opacity map does not show anything that is black.
here is an example of a leaf and it's opacity map.
