PNY 2x8gb ddr3 keeps ASrock G41C-GS R2.0 from POST...
show user profile  HANZZ
CPU is Intel E7400 Core 2 duo at 1066 fsb
Tried setting jumper to 1333 on mb, no fix. (out of desperation)
Tried using 2 8gb dimms in mb without jumper set to 1333 (ditto)
Tried using 1 8gb dimm in slot 1 for ddr3 with jumper set to fix.

Curious if anyone has experience with this combo or PNY ram.

Max module size for that mobo appears to be 4GB:

Terribly boring signature.

Yeah, I found that initially. However there's this:

Even in the link I gave, they do mention it's likely a limit to 4gb per slot, and some mb's have 4 or more slots, whereas my micro atx only has 2 for ddr3 and 2 for ddr2. Damn this mb sucks. Gonna look around for a bios upgrade...maybe that'll help.

The supported mem list is normally up to date with latest BIOS update, so it's fairly unlikely.

It is always a good idea to check the CPU and RAM compatibility lists before buying bits.. RAM brand is rarely an issue on standard Mobos, and will often work, as long as similar size/speed is listed.
CPUs can be annoying though, since you do not know which BIOS version a new mobo is shipped with.
We have been having a lot of fun with the multiple generations of Hasswell cpus requirering different BIOS versions, which means that if you buy a new cpu and mobo, the mobo may not support the cpu, until after you have put in an older cpu, and updated the BIOS... because you just happen to have cpus all over the place..

Terribly boring signature.

Sounds about as much fun as a colostomy. Guess this is just what I'm limited to with this zero-budget motherboard. If anyone out there has a socket 775 mb they want to get rid of that can handle 16gb or ddr3, let me know.
