whats that plugin that "builds" houses
show user profile  zaphod box
hi
you build a room/house then you want the animation to "build" each wall room details ect as the viewer watches?

Like an animated boolean cutting the object "house"

thanks

Not aware of any plugins, personally. But look up the "Slice" modifier. With a bit of clever thinking this should suffice for what you're asking for.

yes slice but a wavy slice, like a room is filling with water and as the objects go under the water they become visable

I wouldn't look for plugins for this, like Dave says clever work with the (large array of) tools that are should bring results.

Finding creative solutions for problem solving is a massive part of being a 3D artist!

Well, there's either the simple/cheap/quick approach, or there's the slower/flexible option you'll need to take if being directed by client so should be inherently slow anyway. But flexible.. yay

Just thinking out loud here, (I don't have Max open right now)
Can you use a proxy mesh with a slice modifier? i.e. can you use a plane with an animated wave pattern to do the slicing, or are you stuck with only a flat plane?

I might look into this if I get some time later.

that's interesting owtdr, never used proxy mesh i'll give it a bash. where I come unstuck is to get the slice modifier in a different shape
