Pivot Point for ePoly
show user profile  jadedchron

I am quite embarrassed to ask this, but it's been so long since I've touched 3ds max; nonetheless, I have a box with some flaps I need to rotate on a pivot point (where the red dots are).

What's the simplest way to go about this? I'm using 2009, by the way.

Thanks.

Check out the "Working Pivot". I remember it being a bit fiddly (never used it much), but combined with Snap it'll do exactly what you want.

Alternatively, detach those parts, put the pivot points in the right place, then reattach.

I think the thickness of the sides may cause some problems at the joints, though.
