Is there a way of finding out which PHP file is making something happen on a website? I have a check box that has appeared on my site but cannot for the life of me see how it got there. There must be a code in one of the PHP files but cant seem to find it.

Tried right clicking in Chrome and going inspect element, it refers to a PHP but upon inspection the code for the check box is not there. :/

I usually just comment stuff out until it goes away. Then un-comment half and see if it comes back until eventually I find which line it is on. As far as I know there isn't a way to find out which file is responsible for what DOM elements.
