Photoshop painting II
show user profile  3joez
Thanks for all the inputs of the previous thread, I'm now studying a new painting. I'm inspired by the link posted in the previous thread and I would like to do my Nepal scene, let's call it. I'm also reading a great book by Betty Edwards about colors.
I'm posting every little step I'm doing so I'm hoping to share critiques and tips along the way.
After drawing the shapes in black against a middle grey canvas (having a middle grey in the background to me is essential, since it is perfectly in the middle of the light values gamma).
I must state I don't want to do matte painting. I want to paint everything and not reach photorealism.
Drawing and painting freshly and directly is my primary objective. Something like Nick carver, if you don't know him.
Here's my first step, lines and a general color scheme.

Yep. Those clouds are great. You also got the fade to distance down pat. So, come on, don't leave us hanging, post your next update already. :)

I'm done with it. I don't want to give more detail. I'm really focusing on colors. Maybe after some more paintings and research. Instead, I decided to paint a Monet scene my way. Here it is.
Monet was really obsessed with colors, so, a good point to be inspired with.
