Photo thread

I had another photo thread but since that was more product/macro photography related I thought I started a new one. Have not been taking much product or macro photographs the past few weeks.

I do have some new shots from New York which I hope you all like

Nice shots man.

The last empire state building if it was a 3d render I would have definitely said change the sky ;)

If you edit that cab shot a bit, give it a little warm feel it can well go as any good Hollywood film shot I think.

Hey, good to see you posting more work :)

I like the building shots (5 and 6), all very cool! As is the smoking cab!

I wish the first shot could have been wider, even if you had just stitched a couple of shots together

@Seth: thanks :-)

@Inxa: lol, yeah the sky was pretty standard ;-). Thanks

@Bobbyboy: thanks you. I agree on the first shot. Too bad I can't go back and finish the shot. Unfortunately the photoshop content-aware feature doesn't work as advertised :P. Otherwise I could have finished the shot...

I really like that library, reminds me of the one in the film Se7en where they are reading up on Dante.

The library is a beautifull building. Especially the inside ceiling is very nice.

I just got the Nikon 24-70mm F2.8 and I got to say I love this lens.. Even with the D300 it looks amazing. The DoF is so incredibly smooth. I'm going to use this lens a lot and practise more to get some good portrait photographs.

Some pics I shot with the lens:

I have been experimenting with some portraits and here is, what I consider, my best one from this serie. Anybody any more tips/crits?

I like it, however, if you are going for a beauty look, then I'd do some retouching, just a bit like making the skin smoother, removing lines under chin etc.

Otherwise I love the colors, great contrasting eyes!

Thanks VKotek. I update the picture and did some more retouching on the lines on the forehead and under her chin. It looks better, thanks for that. I also tried to smoothen up the skin, but that made it look quite unnatural so I didn't go through with that. It could also be the method I was using. Any good tutorials or techniques on that?
